Unitech, a producer of rugged mobile computing products designed the PA962 specifically for mobile use in logistic and service environments, thereby completely fulfilling the requirements for use in Pizza Hut restaurants. The PDA is built to withstand multiple 1,2 meter drops to concrete and is sealed against moisture, dust, fat and liquid spills with an IP65 rate. Additionally it offers quality WiFi connectivity complying CCX’s world standard in security. Eutronix, Unitech’s ICT value-added partner for Point-of-sales and identification applications, ensured a full hardware support as well as an easy integration and installation of the radio frequency infrastructure at Pizza Hut. Complementary Eutronix and PizzaHut selected a number of Unitech accessories such as holsters offering waitresses to easy carry on the PA962 as making order entry simple.
Up to the moment of implementing a new system, the previous - handwritten - order taking process was rather time consuming and could lead to mistakes in regards of wrong table delivery and billing. With the use of the new order taken solution the effectiveness of the Pizza Hut crew has strongly improved. Customers are now served more quickly than before, especially during peak times such as lunch, when time is limited. The PA962 enables the personnel to be of assistance when needed, allowing customer’s experience to be very professional. In addition the risk of forgetting products or entering the wrong products upon payment is reduced to almost zero as only the products that come in as an order are being served and charged.
